Studio Policies and Tuition

Huntington Academy strives to provide a positive environment in which students are free to study, learn, grow, and excel.  Our goal is to instill qualities that will carry a student through life, whether he or she chooses to pursue a career in dance or another field.

Students arriving too late to receive a proper warm up may be asked to observe class.  Talking, chewing gum, eating, drinking, sitting down, wandering in and out of the room, or leaning against the wall are as unacceptable during a class as they would be on stage in front of an audience.  Parents are asked to refrain from distracting students in class.

Students must go to and from the studio wearing cover-ups over their dance attire.  Students must be dressed properly for class and will be asked to observe class if dressed inappropriately.

Dress Code
No jewelry or watches are to be worn during class.

For Females
All ballet students must wear pink tights and pink leather ballet slippers.  Hair is to be worn in a bun.  Short hair pulled back.

Leotard Colors:
Pre-Ballet/Tap Classes: Pink leotard, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes,  please label both sets of shoes with your child's name.
Level 1-2: White leotard
Level 3-4: Lilac leotard
Level 5-7: Burgandy leotard
Levels 8 & up: Any solid color leotard

For Males
Black or grey shorts or tights, fitted white tee shirt, black or white leather ballet slippers.  Hair must be kept short and off of the face.

For Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, and Musical Theater classes: Fitted dance attire including black jazz pants or shorts, and a fitted tank top or tee shirt, with dance shoes as appropriate for the dance style.

Tuition
Monthly tuition is due the first lesson of the month.  After the 10th, a $10 late fee will be assessed.  No credits, refund, or adjustments will be given for missed lessons: however, students are encouraged to attend a make up class in one level above or below their own in any dance form.  There is a $25 fee for returned checks.

• 2 hours/week               $92/month
• 2 1/2 hours/week         $110/month
• 3 hours/week               $126/month
• 3 1/2 hours/week         $140/month
• 4 hours/week               $155/month
• 4 1/2 hours/week         $162/month
• 5 hours/week               $170/month
• 5 1/2 hours/week         $176/month
• 6 hours/week               $180/month

For each additional hour, add $32/month.  For each additional 1/2 hour, add $16/month.

Private lessons are $78/hour payable at the time of the lesson.
