Why HAD?

Written by a Huntington Academy mom:

I was looking for a dance studio for my then three year old daughter. I visited Huntington Academy of Dance. I liked how the teacher engaged her young students, rarely taking her eyes off of them as if they were the most important people in her life. I enrolled my daughter in her first ballet class and we stayed... for 17 years, and counting.
Over the years I have found Huntington Academy to be more than just a dance school. The faculty strives to create a nurturing environment for all students, creating an atmosphere that welcomes all dancers whether recreational or serious. Conservative costumes, age appropriate music, and choreography helps to promote a sense of family, making HAD many children’s home-away-from-home and setting parent’s minds at ease. Dancers are encouraged to progress at their own pace giving each dancer a feeling of success and building self esteem. With safety being a top priority, careful attention is paid to dancer’s growth, development, strength and alignment. The Cecchetti method of Classical Ballet, taught at Huntington Academy, ensures students gain a strong ballet foundation to gradually build on. The Cecchetti exam program offers experiences students will take with them throughout their lives, whether they or not they continue to dance.
The HAD parents are encouraged to get involved, volunteer, and participate in ways that create unique memories with their dancers. Family beach parties, cast parties and Father-Daughter dances give dancers the opportunity to bond with their own families and their dance friends, while HAD parents get to know each other, thus creating “The Huntington Academy Family.”
I am fortunate to have two daughters who have grown up at Huntington Academy and a third well on her way. The discipline, life skills, and experiences they have gained along the way are invaluable.
We are proud to be a part of the Huntington Academy Family!
